Today Pioneer DJ announces 2 new controllers, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV7 and the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1. Both controllers are developed for Serato DJ software and could be seen as the successors of the DDJ-S series controllers.

Both controllers are 2 channel controllers that mimic a battle-style setup, meaning that the decks are 90 degrees rotated (pitchfader up) and this setup looks and feels like a DJM-S11/PLX-1000 combination. For both controllers a transport case is separately available.

DDJ-REV7 Features

  • Controller for Serao DJ Pro
  • Motorized platters with torque and speed control
  • 3.5'' LCD display in Jog that shows info like albumart and waveforms
  • Dedicated buttons for Instant Scratch with samples build into the DDJ-REV7
  • These buttons can laso be used for Sample Banks (Serato)
  • Performance pads above the channel faders (Like S11)
  • 22 Hardware Beat FX (BPM linked effects)
  • New Beat FX : Duck Down, Fill Out and Helix Out
  • Effect Levels to flash the effects or toggle them on/off
  • 5 Sound Color FX (Filters)
  • Magvel Pro Crossfader with tension control
  • New : Smooth Echt, automatic echo if you close the fader

The DDJ-REV1 is the little brother of the DDJ-REV7 and has the same battle style setup. You could see this one best as the new entry level controller (like DDJ-SB) in the series that also has similarities with the DDJ-SR.

DDJ-REV1 Features

  • Controller for Serato DJ Lite (works with Pro but no license included)
  • Performance pads above the channel faders (like S11)
  • Effect Levels to flash the effects or toggle them on/off
  • Jogwheel with diameter of the DDJ-SR2 (132mm)
  • 60mm pitch faders (like DDJ-SR)
  • Tracking Scratch : helping had to stay on cue during scratching
  • Mixed Mic, Master out can be mixed with a microphone sound that will be send to Serato

There exists a golden version of the DDJ-REV1, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1-N but this will not be available in the EU and MEA.
