Crest Pro 200 series Amplifiers RoHS Compliant  Add your News

The European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) initiative took effect on July 1. Per directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament, all electronics imported in the E.U. must be certified RoHS compliant by July 1, 2006. RoHS-compliant products must contain less than 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB ) and polybrominated diphenyls ethers (PBDE ), as well as less than 0.01% for cadmium.

Crest Audio is providing contractors and installers in that market with an assortment of RoHS-compliant amplifiers. Crest Audio adopted RoHS-compliant components in its designs in February 2005. Crest Audio marks one year of RoHS-compliant product designs with its Pro 200 Series, CD Series and new network-ready Ci Series power amplifiers, the first shipping RoHS-compliant products from the company.

Pro 200 Series

Designed with touring sound professionals in mind, the Crest Pro 200 Series power amplifiers faithfully produce high power with low distortion in an extremely lightweight economical package.

The Pro 200 Series, CD Series and Ci Series are manufactured through a lead-free surface-mount process that ensures compliance with RoHS environmental standards. Crest Audio has also assembled lead-free component libraries and tested lead-free printed circuit board and solder materials, and the company's efforts continue in the elimination of lead in all solder applications. The company's Crest Performance MI product line will also comply with RoHS standards.
