Ontwikkelaar Intua heeft BeatMaker aangekondigd, een sampler en sequencer voor de iPhone en ipod touch waarmee je muziek kunt opnemen en die tegelijk dienstdoet als beatbox. De functionaliteit lijkt op die van de akai mpc sampler : je kunt loops en beats maken en die realtime afspelen.

Beatmaker is muziek produktie software voor je iPhone.

In de eerste versie zal BeatMaker nog geen MIDI ondersteunen, maar ontwikkelaar Mathieu Garcia zegt dat het samen met Open Sound Control (de opvolger van MIDI) wel zal worden opgenomen. Wanneer de BeatMaker beschikbaar komt is nog een groot geheim: in ieder geval wordt het een officiële applicatie, die je via de App Store moet installeren.
