I guess it's pioneer!

I also have some questions about the position of the Dennons. Altough a photo can be misleading, I think they are a little bit too high.
Can you tell us what modifications we can expect?

nice booth.

The Denons aren't that high... But yes... I have to say that I can't clearly see the display unless I tilt my body forward. But it works fine and its easy getting used to.

The Nuo 4 is there because not only does it has an awesome sound quality but also a superb E.Q., 60mm faders and a specific MIDI channel. Also, contrary to the Nuo 5, it has infinite adjustable faders. But I'm going to buy an EFX 1000 and if it doesn't work 100% as I want it to work with the mixer, I'll sell the Nuo 4 and buy an Empath or a digital mixer with the best S/R processing possible.

About the S3500 vs the CDJ 1000... its not that simple as the dj community makes it sound. The bend buttons are more precise for fine beatmatching than the jog, though I think its a matter of getting used to. But the CDJ 1000 has more buffer memory, so one can backspin or forth spin an entire music. You can use the Hot Cues as wild as you want and the unit won't ever chock. And contrary to the S3500,  you can loop, adjust B point to a point that it will only be a tone (on the S3500 it won't go that far) and you can scratch that loop, do spins without ever exiting B point. On the S3500 if you set a loop and spin around B point, it will resume playing.

The S3500 has effects and Hot Starts which are quite nice. You have adjustable presets so you can save your preferred pitch range.

But the MAIN point of difference lies in the cd driver. With the S3500 you have to be very careful with your media and recording speeds because if you aren't and you abuse the player, it will skip/accelerate randomly from time to time which is quite annoying.

As a reaction on  your reply Release Yourself,

I have got a S1000 Denon cd player, but i never had any problems like those you have had. That's why it sounds a bit strange to me because the S3500 are much more expensive. Mayby it's your burn program or your cd's where you burn your music on.

Anyway, it's not that big problem Happy, laughing Nice booth (like i already said)

at vibemaster: seriouly, I think it's quit stupid to say that because in general, Denon is a very big and good brand. If you use Denon and can play and practise with it, than you can do also very cool things...

I think Pioneer is just blown up with the media and especially in this dj resource site... (not that I care, it's good though... I also have pioneer cd players) but I don't think you have to say a think like that about Denon when you probably don't know shit about DAT dirty denon shit Winking my eye

at releaseyourself: nice booth man, looks like you have all the gear you need, keep up the good stuff Winking my eye

Release Yourself, isn't that Roger Sanchez orso?Happy, laughing
Flag ReleaseYourself wrote on 22-05-2007 01:06
One thing I have to say, the dj community is often misleading to the point that most people firmly believe that the only cd players worth buying are the Pioneers. Even worse, several djs often go with the DJM 500/600/3000 over its competitors even though almost any other mixer in that price range offers better sound and E.Q. quality. The CDJ 1000 MK2/MK3 and the CDJ 800 MK2 are very solid units. But for instance, the S3500, S5000 and other decks are also good purchases. The S5000 is a very reliable advanced deck btw.

ReleaseYourself as a DJ name was chosen perhaps 4 years ago. Only a couple of years ago did I discover that Roger Sanchez had a tour with that name or something like that. I don't even have him as an idol Winking my eye

@cody: pls reply in english

@release yourself: verry nice booth but i don't like your setup,

you should buy a bigger table so u can put them in a row.

Flag ReleaseYourself wrote on 23-05-2007 00:16
If I had put all the gear in a row, the decks on the edges would be too far away to control in a mix without moving to the left or right. Im thinking of buying a new table in a near future though.
