Allen and Heath Xone:4DFollowing the revolutionary Xone:3D, the new Xone:4D DJ mixer with built in MIDI controller now has a 24bit sound card and a great new look and UV light sensitive white screening so the controller data will glow under UV light.
Here's the latest info on it:
Totally new USB2 soundcard

24bit/96kHz capability

Drivers available for both PC and Mac

4 stereo outputs plus digital out

4 stereo inputs plus digital in

8 extra soundcard configuration switches

Ability to switch FX2 RCA sockets to be recording outputs

Unique real-time LFO waveform edit function

Dual layer control surface with control snapshot allows 225 mappable MIDI controls on two layers.

Updated mixer circuitry

Improved BPM detection system

Heavy duty chassis and front panel
The xone:4D will do everything that the 3D could do, and more. It enables DJs to greatly extend the capability of their digital setup, for example running 4 simultaneous decks in Native Instruments Traktor 3, or by being able to achieve genuine multi-track recording of their sets in applications such as Ableton Live or ProTools. The Xone4D should soon be given Traktor Scratch approval by Native Instruments, enabling full compatibility with their encoded vinyl system.
Of course, the most noticeable visible element about the xone4D is the new style. Allen & Heath have developed it in response to many people’s requests for panels which are easier to read in low light (all the white screening is in Ultra Violet sensitive paint, which glows when exposed to UV light), and for the Xone design to become more stylish and representative of contemporary design.
The Allen & Heath xone:4d should be available in shops at the end of May or begin June 2008.
