Before you update your player you should check the current version of the firmware. To do so, just follow these simple steps:

In Cue, Pause or No Disc mode, hold down the button labeled “-preset” for 2 seconds. The display should then indicate that you are in the preset mode
Then, turn the track knob counterclockwise (backwards) until the display shows SYS .... . If your version number does not match the Latest Plug In’s version, please proceed with the download. Otherwise, don't mess around with the firmware.

There has been released a new firmware for the Denon DN-S3500 DJ CD player on 25 october 2006. There are several issues that are solved with this firmware. The most current version numbers at this moment are: SYS 0098 DSP 0A26. These issues are resolved with this firmware :

• Improved the Cue area for instantaneous scratching from PLAY
• Improved performance with Serato Scratch Live control discs
• Improved pitch stepping increments for the 4% & 10% range
• Added the ability to reset the Effects (Filter/Flanger/Echo)
• Added more Fader Start options
• Added TT Tricks function
• Added Brake memory function

Also the firmware for the DN-S1000 is improved. The way to check the current version is the same as for his bigger brother (see above)

Latest Plug In’s version 24 october 2006 is SYS-1144 :

• Further playback improvement for MP3 files

For the Denon DN-D4500 the same story, the check goes like mentioned above and was released on 24 october 2006 and this is version SYS-0042:

• If the power is turned ON and OFF quickly several times, it may cause DSP malfunction
• In a very rare case, Scanning may occur when selecting a Track via the PM knob
• “Disc Error” conditions were improved
