Product Information
Tascam's first digital console was the TMD 8000. Much bigger than it's main competitor (The Yamaha 02R) it was designed for small commercial 24 track studios putting in 24 tracks of DA88 digital recorders. It's very impressive looking and built for the professional environment. It has 16 mic/line input channels, 6 stereo line input channels, and 24 tape return channels. It is patterned after the large in-line analog studio consoles. It has full equalization and usual features on every channel, plus 8 digitally patchable dynamics processors. It's an 8 buss output console with 16 direct outs for the first 16 input channels. Its remote control section fully controls DA88 and DA38 tape machines.
Digital Recorder CompatibilityTascam Digital Recorders, with T-DIFF connectors integrate flawlessly with this console, including the MX2424 as well as all of the MDM models (DA88, DA38, DA-98). Complete remote control of these recorders can be accomplished with the control section of the console.
Analog Recorders, of any brand, can be interconnected with the console using the MA-AD8 and IF-DA8 interfaces that are part of this package.
ADAT Recorders may be interconnected using the analog connectors or by ADAT/TIFF converters such as those made by MOTU.
