hey im basically a beginner i just started a couple weeks ago and i decided to get myself gear so i bought:

DJM-800
2 CDJ1000MK3's
and a couple M-audio speakers

i just wanted to know did i spend too much as a beginner?

i mean i did buy over $4900 worth of equipment.

do i really need the CDJ1000MK3's or should i have gone with the MK2 instead i just want to know i didnt make a mistake or anything because i mean the MK2 looks like it gets the job done its half the price of the other MK3.

just wanted some opinions.

Thank you very much,
Brian =)

the mk2 would have done the job just right. but doesnt play mp3 cd's. and for the mixer, you could have gotten any other mixer on the market. but the one you got now is ultimate quality. your gear is top notch.
but for a beginner i wouldnt have done this. its a shitload of money and maybe you are not going to like it. so its a pretty big investment. but have fun and practise alot!

i just got them in today and i mean i like them but i think im going to go with the MK2 instead of the MK3's just because it will cut the cost by atleast a $1000.
The mixer i like because of all the effects it has and its a 4 channel. if i keep anything out of the whole thing its going to be the mixer but im just concered about the CDJ's and whats the best one for a me who just started.

I think you've made a great decision! When all people have the money for this set, they will buy it! Why shouldn't you spend too much as a beginner? If you have the money, you like dj-ing and you want to begin with a good dj-set, what's a good reason why you shouldn't buy someting like this? What i just said, you made a great decision to buy a set who's in every club standard as dj-booth! Have fun!

You did buy the cheapest beginners set there is Happy, laughing Ok, this may need some explaining. The stuff you bought is the best there is. There is not much gear that exceeds these top products from Pioneer. In case you don't like the DJ-ing you can sell everything. And beceause it is such a great gear, you can ask a nice price for it again. So you will not loose that much money on it. This however requires you use the gear correct and keep it in good condition.
So actually I would advice everyeone to buy this, problem is only that the most people don't have such an amount of money to start using this from the start and therefor buy some less expensive gear to be able to start DJ-ing any way.

a great set, but not really necessary as a beginner

but you will enjoy it more and more after you begin to grow in the dj-ing

Did you spend to much money? Yes you did, in my opinion.

But iam not a fan of the expensive pioneers.

Nevermind Patrick-Allen.... Probably is wallet related

The stuff you bought is all Industry-standard and you will find it in any pro-djbooth
It's kinda nice when you have to perform somewhere and they have exactly the same gear as @home.

Helps a lot...
