Hey i am doing a hybrid set where i mash up funk, flamenco, classical etc and turn them into beats. 1 part jazz set 1 part dj set. I am looking for a sturdy sampler that can sample and resample on the fly and I can change the bpm. I remember reading of an older school remix equipment that if you get 2 you have a good engine but i am blanking on the name.

I know animal collective uses the boss dr 303 etc. Anyway.. I am looking for a good piece of equipment that I can use to make beats on the fly, has tap bpm and allows me to change the bpm - i prefer that if the unit has autobpm it can be shut off.

Also is there a program that allows you to do this on the fly - i was looking at ableton but I didnt give it enough time to see if i can do that or if i need to prepare a massive amount of soundbytes ( duhh, what they call it??) and whatnot.

Thanks guys!!
