In anoher thread I've posted e secrets of the CDJ-800 by showing it's inner body
Here are the same pictures but now revealing you all mysteries of the Pioneer CDJ-1000MK2 :

And now we're talking about the CDJ-1000MKII, I also tried out a mod suggested by jordy in This Forum thread.

'What if I want the metal DVJ-X1 Jog Plate on my CDJ-1000MK2 ?'

This is actually a fine idea, but a little more complex than it looks like. I can never suggest anybody to do this. First of all it is all at your own risk :

You will definitly void all waranties by opening the CDJ yourself !

The Jog Wheel is one of the most complex parts of the CDJ and exist (roughly) out of 60 parts and 27 screws, not counting the unit that gives you the 'feel' and the display. Each part must go back just as you take it out because to reach the Jog Plate you have to disassemble almost the complete Jog....

I replaced 3 part of the CDJ-1000MK2 with new ones. The Jog Plate is sticked to the Jog and I assume this will be very hard to completely remove all glue. The surface must be completely flat to stick the DVJ Jog Plate to it.

Typically a case of 'just to be sure' :D

To get access to the Touch Sensitive section most of the Jog Wheel had to be removed and dissassembled. This is a very precise job and shouldn't be done in a rush.

I've put the parts in a reasonable setup to make a neat picture, look at the difference between the original Jog Plate (bottom right) and the new one (top left). It looks simple this way, but it's a surprisingly clever principle... but all solutions seem simple, once known

After an endless session of unscrewing all parts, the Jog Wheel could be replaced. And all screws and parts can be assembled again. The final result is very , I love the metal feel of the DVJ's Jogwheel.

Just to compare, this is a picture of an original CDJ1000, it's positioned right beside the modified one to make sure both players are illuminated by the same lights.

Is this possible to try this tip on a CDJ800 ?

I'm not sure about this... I think it should be possible, just need to recalculate the resistors Winking my eye I've found the schedules allready so I'll try to figure out the exact values for it...

I've also writted a complete topic about the blue led mod for those that might find it interresting. It's possible that you've seen some of it allready at the bottom of the DVJ-jog mod topic, but I though it would be better to split them up at the end Winking my eye

Enjoy :
