Hi. First things first, this was the closest forum I could go to about my following topic. Now, I know every DJ is into equipment and music (in general) but what sets them apart from the other DJ? There are various things such as their style and so on but we're going to talk about booth designs in this topic.
I think that designing your CD players with that special upgrade of faceplates, stands, and glowtronics will give you the extra flare. But these are all on the market and seen almost everywhere. Did anyone think about personally designing and building their own Booth which is including the CD player's exterior painting design and a new way to hold equipment? (If not...creative ideas are welcomed).
I am currently doing this project and I know not many DJays have the time to do this. For one thing, I know that the system moderator "lead" has done this before. He has Custom built his turntables. It was the outside design of the rough granite finish which inspired me to start writing so many words. Anyway, I hope you get my flow by now and I'll be looking forward to your replies.

I've given my turntable a special treatment (as you say so also) but went a lot further than only repainting it : new LED's on most places, no 0% click etc.
I've had some idea's to do something like this with a CDJ. I've tried to do some things to a Pioneer CDJ-1000 like the blue LED mod for CDJ-1000 and Jog plate mod for CDJ-1000. But I didn't go as fas as to repaint it.
if i'd be a lucky owner of something like pioneer cdj-1000 then i really wouldnt paint it or mod it. i'll be a really happy camper with a normal version. i wouldt even dare to open the thousand bucks machinery. i do like modded equipment that other people have done. but I really dont think its neccesery in any way. it should be something you do ot your cars :P not DJ gear
this topic title is a bit wrong i guess? booth design and modding your equipment is a completely other thing. but if it concerns booth design. you can check out some kick ass rooms & dj booths. i saw a guy that drew MIX on his wall with CD's.. "pimping" the booth can be really fun. but about gear... i dont see the use
