I really want to start producing my own music. Trance or some variant of the stuff is where I would like to head. Anyone have suggestions on the hardware I should look at?

Yupp i agree with Lead if you are just starting out softwear is the way to go and if your intrest grows then you might expand with hardware synths and so on to get that hands on feeling that we all love hehe

hey mate -
check out ORION PLATINUM -
WHOA!
it's all we use to create tracks in every genre, from trance to ambient -
you can use VST, or direct X plugs in it as well.
good luck!

There is so much software to produce your own music. Happy, laughing

Propellerheads Reason (this one doesn't have VST-support), Steinberg Cubase, Ableton Live (like Lead mentioned), FL Studio or Cakewalk. And there also a lot of so called 'trackers', but they aren't that easy to work with.

I would advise you to download the demo's of the programs I mentioned, and then you can see which program's something for you and ?f you like to produce music. Because it isn't that easy to make a whole track, it takes a lot of practice or you're using Magix Music Maker or something?! :D
