Hi everybody, I've been working with a really non-professional equipment and become the time that quality and features keep holding my skills down
My actual equipment:
DJ Mixer(midi controller) : Behinger BCD-2000
Headphones : Sennheiser HD 202
Laptop Acer Turion 64, 1gb memory, 120gb of hard drive (running vdj/traktor)
generic speakers as monitor

Should I :
1. get a small keyboard like an oxygen, an AKG headphone and keep computer with the BCD ( ~U$ 200,00)
2. get a better mp3 computer mixer such as torq xponent or something like that and as money goes thats pretty much it.( ~U$ 600,00)
3. kick everything out wait longer save more money and start to play with 2 cdj-100 and an average mixer. ( ~U$ 700,00 )
4. work a lot on my patience, like a monk, wait even longer and buy 2 cdj-200 with a better mixer ($a lot of money)

Priorities

1. quality vs stability (dont have both from my actual system thats why im changing)
2. features (live creativity is cool)
3. skill vs money (I rather wait longer than be cheap if this is the best choice)

Anyone, everyone have some ideas to share Im open mind ... migration plans or ideas for cheap booths, Im just not a vynil fan, dont bother me burn 2 milions songs in cd or cdmp3s ... im still doing college so money is something that worries me and i do look for used stuff too if u guys have links will help ...

thanks!

it depends on what you'd prefer. I'd say you save some money and go for an average mixer and cd players. I don't think you'll keep on mixing with you computer and the external mp3-mixer forever. And the choice beteween a cdj-100 or 200 is your own. I dont have experience with any of them.

I should save some money, sell your old stuff and buy some better gear. Look for something you can afford with a good price/quality proportion. If you see some interesting gear, then first look if u can find a review. Ans sorry for my bad English

Well, if i were you, I should save for the cdj-200 because it has more features than the cdj-100....or try 2nd hand cdj's, that's an option  ..........I think cd-players (or tt) are way better than programs like virtual dj or something like that.. but it depends on your goals, if you want to mix at parties I think it's more handy you use cdj'sWinking my eye

why don't you try to buy a pair of cdj200/100's on ebay?

Well I think that some second hands cdj 100/200 and a decent mixer is thet best thing for you. And ps,. Don't use the hidden massage for this kind of things!

for all
So is not a good idea keep mixing with computers ? not yet ? so looks like for a 2 chanels solution the best for someone like me whos beggining as a dj and is migrating from a midi usb controller is 2 cd-players n a mixer !?

Most of the DJ's here are using cd players or turntables.

A few use their laptop, but in combination with the expensive time code solutions like Serato or Final Scratch, and anyhow you still need 2 turntables.

Ofcourse you can continue to use your PC in combination with a USB or MIDI controller, but you've mentioned that those are holding you down.

Personally I like the feel of a mixer with cd players better than a PC.
