You cannot copare the CDJ-100s (cheapest, least features) with the CDJ-800-MK2 (which is a model far above the average).

so in this coparisson, the CDJ-800 is the best player... but it costs the ost.

DJM-400 is a very nice mixer with lots of features. Pleasure garanteed :D

PMC-05 is also a very nice mixer, but it stops at mixing, whilde the DJM offers some very nice effects and sample banks.

Indeed, the DJM 400 is a perfect mixer. Ideal for home use. Or small party's somewere.

The best player for you to begin is the CDJ 100. The 800 is great, but not when you begin. First you have to start learning the dj basics. Beatmatching, working with equalizers, be known with dj equipment. So to start maybe you can begin with (this is my opinion)=

Second hand gear. Be sure when you buy it, that it is okey. Test it before you buy it.

You can look for the Pioneer:

Cd-player: 2x CDJ 100s
Mixer: DJM 300

Nice set to begin with, and learn the Dj Basics. It's very nice to let others see what kind of equipment you have. The cdj 800 is very nice, but it's to expensive to begin with.

Otherwise when you want another mixer, you should try the DJM 400. My mixer is also the DJM 400 and it's Perfect, just as the DJM 300. But the DJM 400 has more functions. That's the difference. As beginner you don't need them.

If you want to scratch you shoeld take the CDJ 800. But this is an very big step. And Expensive. It also depend on what music style you want to turn.

If you want to turn House, Elektro, Hardstyle, or something like that. It's better that you start with the Cdj 100s. This one is for this case better. The reason for that is, because you have more to do with Beatmatching.

If you want to turn, R&B, Hiphop, Reageatton, bubbeling, then it's better when you buy the cdj 800. These styles is different with mixing. You are more busy with scratching, queing and hack and slashing. But when you do that, You KnowWinking my eye

CDJ1000 mk3 is da legend
Laidback    posted on 16-02-2007 05:40
Well the CDJ-1000mk3 is the new Industry Standard.. and it might be a Legend..
its olso a "Legend" of a Price!
and starting dj's just can't afford it..

if you want real Vinyl feel as a Beginner,, Buy a Turntable..
dont want to buy Vinyls..
buy a Cdj-800mk2..
the cdj-100s / cdj-200 are really nice players..
but just dont have those Big features..

save a Lil' more money.. and Go for 2 Cdj-800mk2's ..
then you wil have something to carry you long enough.. Winking my eye

my first cd players were the CDJ-100s,,
at that time their wasnt anything as Scratchin with CD's..
Vinyl whas "THE" Thing to have!..
these days the CD is takin over most of vinyl work..
so the cdj-800 wil be a Very Very nice player to have..
its a Digital  Cd Turntable..  with a touch of Vinyl to the usage.. and you cant say that about the cdj-100s or cdj-200  Winking my eye

You started with the cdj 100s Laidback. DeadPoolxl2k2 also wants to start. When you started, you couldn't afford the 800.  Maybe you could i don't know, but would you have done it.

I Mean... He has to learn the way of mixing, then you don't buy one of the cd-players who are to expensive. It's a very nice one, but to big to begin with.

Whey he has mony to much, he can buy them:D

But when de Dj'ing doesn't like him, he has very expensive cd-players
