Mixing with cd and vinyl 
ive been stuck trying to figure out if i should get the denon dns3500 or the pioneer cdj800.? my only problem is, i dont scratch or do anything like that, i mix trance and breakbeat...i tried playing with both decks today and im not used to touching the platter and having it stop the music on me.? with records, sometimes u have to slow the record down or speed it up by hand which means i have to touch the record, but with the cd decks it just seems when i touch the platterm its very sensitive, and?the cd stops spinning.??im wondering if there is a way to slow down a cd manually like one would have to do with a record to keep it in sync with another record, smd csm it be done on the cd decks?without making the cd stop. i still plan on using vinyls in addition having a cd deck.? which cd deck mixes better with vinyls and which deck is better, the denons dns3500or the pioneer cdj800mk2?

I would go for the CDJ, witch is from my opinion a better one then the denon.
And about the question about the speeding up and slowing down, there is a pitch control fader on your cd deck for that ! (its the slider on the right hand side of your deck at the most cd decks...)

utrechtWell i think you mean the bending on a cdplayer...
You do that on a cdj with the outside of the jogwheel. When you put your fingers on top of it it wil always stop playing!
I guess that bending on a denon works the same a with vinyl.
I say that the cdj is better. the denon still has some cue problems and i don't like the looks. There are to much buttons on this player.

You probably should work in CDJ mode most of the time. In Vinyl mode you can only touch the outer ring without stopping the track on the CDJ-800.
If the platter of the Denon DN-S3500 is spinning you shouldn't have the problem.
For temporarily slowing down or speeding up a track, pitch bending, there are several methods on both decks:
With the pitch fader while you keep an eye on the pitch indicator on the display, this is pretty difficult method and takes a lot of practice.
By pushing the outer ring of the CDJ-800 in vinyl mode, but in cdj mode you can also use the jog
On the DN-S3500 you can use the platter in several ways to pitch bend, but you have different platter modes BEND and MAIN. In BEND mode it will be as a CDJ-800 in cdj mode. In MAIN mode it will be as a turntable platter, so you have to touch the spinning platter lightly.

In my opinion it really doesn't matter which deck you choose to work together with turntables.
The Denon has more features, but the Pioneer feels more comfortable. And it doesn't has any bug.
