Hi all,
I just replaced the pitch slider on both my CDJ-500's to try and resolve pitch increment skiping issue (on both - and + side, ie-0.0,0.1,0.4,0.6,1 - intermitant depends on speed of movement). This hasn't worked, basically they act the same as before replacement but now has a smoother slider action. The top and bottom 2 CM of the slider doesn't do anything. Sometimes I see the display flicking between say 4.1 to 4.2 during a mix !. Is this a known design issue? or would Pioneer service be able to re calibrate these old decks ...

any advise is appreciated !!

What do you think about CDJ-500 pitch slider problem ??

The CDJ-500's pitch can be changed in steps of 0.1%, replacing the fader will only change the feel of the fader. The technical functionality stays the same offcourse.

Why a few cm of your fader doesn't work anymore is amystery to me. Have you used the right part ??

The flickering is knows, you've place the pitchfader right between 2 steps, the CDJ can't choose so it switches between 2 settings.

Pioneer service will be able to repair this.... I think...

Thanks Lead, the part# DXX2225 (Slider Assy-S - order from Pioneer service agents monacocorp) - included the pcb and slider, simple plugin job.. your right though if the slider was incorrect resistance then maybe this would be n issue. thanks for the help ..

The component DXX-2225 might be different in USA than here in Europe.

The DXX-2225 part has the description : "volume Assy". When you would like to replace the fader component on the PCB you should order part numer : DCV-1002.

Yeah the DXX-2225 is also listed as Volume ASSY (Slide) CDJ500 on my invoice, but is correct as the same part# is in the service manual, the DCV-1002 sounds like its the Slider without the PCB(and probably alot cheaper to order). I have been told that the pitch Jitter on the CDJ500 is an undocumented feature, apparrently sets the pitch to 0.05 + or - when between 0.1 increments... the processor gets confused and doesnt know what to do so switches up or down...
