I need some information about Dutch DJ.

   

This is Jenny, a student from Sheffield Hallam University (UK).

I find you email address on:  web site. I am writing to you to seek your help.

I am doing a research about music course research of Netherlands, like DJ
training course and recording artist training course. I need some Dutch DJ or
recording artist or future ones or people who have interest in this field to
answer some questions of my survey. Your help is very significant to our
research. I appreciate very much for your kindly help and your time.

Questions:

1. In Netherlands, what's the most popular magazine that people who are
interested in DJ and recording art would like to read?

2. What's the leading Dutch music school or studios that offer DJ or recording
technology course?

3.  Would you like to come to England for this kind of  training course, if you
want to join a DJ or recording course? Why?

4. Do you think one to one teaching(one tutor and one student) is more
attractive to you than school location (which city) and the schools awareness
within industry?

5. How will you look for and decide a school to go if you want to join a DJ or
recording course?

6. Any suggestion for the English companies about entering Netherlands market
for doing music course business?

Well Jenny, since your asking a lot I hope I can answer some of them....

2. The DJ-school in The Netherlands as far as I know is in Landgraaf..

3. YES, YES, YES ...

4. Private Training is always better dan Public Trainer...

5. Search for experiences from other users who already took the course.

6. The market for training courses in Holland is very small I think but you never knows...

1. Probably ID&T Magazine , Nightlife Magazine, DJ Gear (from Belgium).

2. There are 4 or 5 DJ schools in Holland. Check the first and oldest : IDP/DMC DJ School, they we're indead located in Landgraaf, but they moved house to Ransdaal. Check their website for more info. There is even an official school named : Fontys Rock Academy where they've got a 4 year schoolarship with official document at the end of the course.

3. No, to much distance, high cost to get over the Channel and takes to much time, besides I know allready how to play a set . For others I think that the distance and the travel time would make it not such a good idea. But perhaps there are lot's of people that don't have the same ideas as I.... One big thing though : Perhaps you can convince people to come to UK when the teachers is a famous DJ that has international fame. I think that would be the only reason for dutch guys to go to UK for a DJ course.

4. I think that the best is a combination. 1 Teacher should be able to handle 3-4 student. When you're just getting to know how to play records you do need some time to practice and to be not too shy I think that some people would prefer to have some exercise while the teachers devides his time to somebody else. The new student might be somewhat a shamed... If the teachers goes to another student the first one can get some practive without everybody hearing what he does...

5. I've learned DJ-ing by some hint I got from some other people and lots of practice... Why would somebody want to go to school if they could learn it themselves.... ?? If I should make a choise it would definitly be a well equiped (new and good working players and mixers for a good brand) and nice looking location. Also I would check on some websites to find reactions from former students. A website with nice and fast replies from the shool itself would make a choise faster made...

6. Nope... no idea's. There are DJ school enought that offer low-cost solutions.... I don't think people would come to UK to follow such a course.

Hehehe... but depands on the price offcourse...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not negative to the thoughts about an english DJ school ! But I do want to be fair, if the costs are low enough, or top-DJ would give the course I do think people might want to come over. :D 

booo hallam uni!! go sheffield uni!! :P (she will understand.. a bit of good old rivalry )  On a more serious note.. U can only teach people how to DJ so much.. practice is the largest part of the learning curve.
