Pioneer introduce the next generation MP3 compatible CDJ-1000MK3 and CDJ-800MK2 CD Decks

With the best quality audio complemented by intuitive precision vinyl emulation, the CDJ-1000MK2 is established as the world?s standard CD deck: performance that?s evolving with the CDJ-1000MK3. The new deck provides full MP3 compatibility, a HOT LOOP feature, ?JOG feeling adjust? and improved presentation of track and WAVE data. With refinements to the CDJ-800MK2 also headlined by MP3, the new decks round out a Pioneer CD/DVD DJ range that?s fully digital and MP3-ready.
?The CDJ-1000MK2 became the industry standard CD player through input from leading DJs across the world and they?ve again advised us on the new modifications that will advance digital DJ?ing,? comments Jason Pook, Product Planning Manager, Pioneer Europe. ?We have evolved the standard with the ?MK3? by improving the presentation of track data, adding features like ?JOG feeling adjust? and including MP3 compatibility. DJs seeking the ultimate sonic performance will use audio files. But with MP3 we?ve added convenience and immediacy - music is easier to transport and access via a growing number of MP3 download sites such as Djdownload.com and Beatport.com.?

CDJ-1000MK3 Pioneer CDJ-1000MK3
The Pioneer genes are clear in the CDJ-1000MK3. The deck offers the same robust build beloved by club owners and DJs, is finished in the familiar high-quality polished look and remains faithful to the clean, clear layout that has become the accepted format for tabletop CD decks. But the subtle revisions add more intuition, make it easier to transport music, and improve track info: refinements that make cueing, looping, scratching and stretching a track easier than ever.
With full MP3 support including VBR files, intelligent features, such as the direct folder search button, allow DJs to quickly access files within folders on the disc for intuitive, fast cueing. A total wide tempo range (+70% to ?100%) also gives greater control than many competitor models.
Along with multimedia cards, SD cards are now also compatible with the CDJ-1000MK3 so that HOT CUES, HOT LOOP points and WAVE display data can be easily stored and loaded.

The CDJ-1000MK3 includes a unique JOG feeling adjust (to the top right of the JOG wheel). It tailors the deck to performers? individual styles by altering the resistance of the wheel, which benefits from a new metallic ?non-slip? finish. The visibility and detail of the information shown on the 360˚ JOG Display is also improved: the fluorescent display has been raised, increasing brightness. The cue marker is larger and new 45˚ angle marks make it easier for scratch DJs to time their effects. The track display has similarly advanced. Its resolution has been doubled, the lighting is multicolour and fluorescent and, as well as displaying the total number of tracks and track position, the WAVE data and playing address details are extended so that a DJ can see a track?s entire length at a glance.

HOT CUE is now partnered by a new HOT LOOP feature that stores up to three loops per track. The buttons are backlit orange for the loop and green for the cues while the re-loop button is now also backlit. A further addition is ?resume play?: the deck will restart playing from the same point if a CD is ejected accidentally.
In keeping with the high quality components of the CDJ-1000MK3, gold RCA connectors are fitted along with a digital out for connection to digital mixers such as the DJM-800 / DJM-1000, ensuring the highest level of sonic purity available. Subtle design changes like the metallic master tempo button also mark the player as the third generation of the industry standard deck.
The new features add to the unique capabilities of the CDJ-1000MK2 and ensure that, as single tabletop CD systems cement their position as the dominant market platform, Pioneer continues to define the mark for digital DJ?ing: a level that has again been raised by listening to and acting on feedback from DJs.

The CDJ-800MK2Pioneer CDJ-800MK2 CD player
The CDJ-800MK2 retained the same key design themes of its big brother, the CDJ-1000MK2, and has a strong installed base, especially in the club and bar sector and among bedroom DJs and enthusiasts. Its revisions have also been influenced by consultation with the DJ community and many of the new features on the CDJ-1000MK3 are carried through into the CDJ-800MK2.
The CDJ-800MK2 has a stylish new silver metallic finish and metallic JOG buttons and also includes full MP3 compatibility; tracks can be operated in the same way as CDs as the deck is equipped with ?Folder Search?, and in ?Text Mode? the artist name, track title and file name are shown on the display.

The JOG wheel retains the non-slip metallic finish of the CDJ-1000MK3 and the subtle silver trim on the wheel, as well as the same features on the On JOG Display (brighter, larger cue point and 45˚ marks).
The feel of the JOG wheel is tweaked to mirror that of the CDJ-1000MK2. The track data display is of a higher resolution (multicolour and fluorescent) and the address data has been extended to include the complete track. Resume play is also included alongside the backlighting of the re-loop button. In addition, it?s now possible to make short beat loops on the CDJ-800MK2 due to the inclusion of an AUTO BEAT LOOP command: by pushing the loop-in button, DJs can create a one-per-eight BEAT LOOP.
With digital connectivity, the CDJ-800MK2 can be at the centre of a full digital environment, providing a deck that offers the core professional features that have made Pioneer the mark by which other tabletop CD systems are measured.

Maybe the second-hand price, but the MK1 won't be available in shops anymore.

Imagine : 2 CDJ-1000MK3('s) and a DJM-800.. Dj heaven

Camino    posted on 22-02-2006 23:27
thnx man Happy, laughing. Yeah that does sound like an ideal combination... sadly its quite a bit more expensive than the DJM600/CDJ1000MK2 combo which has become the drive-in and club standard... i wonder how common this setup will become.
