If your introducing yourself, tell us a little bit about yourself, like where you live, how long you've been djing, which style you play, your age etc.

Im from new jersey..ive been mixing for the past 5 months or soo but heavily following mixing for the past 6 years.? Ive been influenced by Joachim Garraud and other French house artists as well.? The style I love to mix is mostly House and Dance.? I'm only 19 and ive got a podcast up called 'My House'. I recently just got a job in retail at Guess and i mix there on the weekends sometimes when im off.? And thats pretty much it, I plan to learn more and get more experienced as I continue to mix and plan to play alongside the producers I grew up listening to sometime in the future!

Hi chris,

Welcome to the DJResource, i hope you have a great time. If you ever need a translation somewhere you can always request so and people will help you out... What kind of gear do you use to mix, CD or digital ?

I've visited NY just a month ago, great place with lots of nice things going on.

Alright thanks man.. I use cdj-2000s and a djm 800 and sl3 to record.? I dont like to perform with a laptop really because mine broke so i use those handy usb drives thanks pioneer!? I'm sorry to say but the DJ scene in the tri state area is played out..you have to go to a big club to enjoy a decent performance and everywhere else DJ's just play mashups and mix genres and its just sloppy.? With the radios playing out these hip hop songs that all talk about drinking, doing drugs, bragging about something stupid, and other things with wack beats in the track... it just sounds like nobody can make beats that make you want to dance around here anymore.? People need some uplifting beats in a time like this!

Hi Chris, welcome also from the Belgian members?from DJR.We are always very pleased to have new members especialy members?from the USA.
We know that the House scene a very small scene is in the USA, R&B and HipHop rules in your country, and if you like another style like house, you have to search for information at European sites, like DJR Cool

The most of the members on DJR doesn't like hiphop, R&B,... i doesn't like it to for same reasons as you ...and more.

Haha. if you see what's on the billboard nowadays, you would think people can't make good music anymore. Not only dance, but also the easy tunes.

But welcome Chris_Dymyd. Pretty expensive set for European standards. Are the 2000's and 800 cheap in the NYC area?

mine ran for about 2,500 USD each when i bought them 2 months after they came out over here..now the 2000s are about 1,900 USD each and the 800s are about 900 USD each.. you can probably find them cheaper, thats the list prices from a major retail distributor
