Has anyone had to replace the (right hand) 'hunger' on Pioneer HDJ-1000 headphones - thats the horse-shoe bit that holds the ear cup & goes back to the pivitol joint?
I've broken mine & ordered a new part from -spam-but looking at the headphones, it's gonna be one hell of a fiddley job
I've spoken to Pioneer technical support (Ha) without any luck.
What do you think about Replace hunger on HDJ 1000 headphones ??

replacing the hinges is a tough job and will probably fail if it's your first attempt and you do not have a service doc besides you. Pioneer repair can fix this for you, you also get 3 month of warrenty on the repair (at least, here in Netherlands).
Doing it yourself will require a good dose of patience and tiny tools.
Send him to your local Pioneer dealer or come to Holland. We Dutch people send our products over to the Pioneer service centre and it will be repaired in max. two weeks.
This service is not like that in every country Tairip. Also other countries are bag so that transportation could be an issue. Offcourse the best way to fix this is to let Pioneer service deal with this, but in some situation that's might be hard...
But if Topic Starter posts what he has done and where he gets stuck, somebody might have a clue to help him. Offcourse nobody has a step-by-step floorplan for such, neither would I encourage anybody to do this yourselves. I've tried it and broken parts along the way...
Just to let you know that with some small screwdrivers & an exploded parts diagram, I managed to do this without too much trouble
Thanks for all your advice.
