Pioneer launches new DJs software: SVJ-DL01

   

just came across this news item. am surprised I haven't seen it on this site yet:

Pioneer will soon announce this new DJ software SVJ-DL01. This Pioneer software is the same as any other software: play audio files from your hard drive. You mix your audio files with 2 virtual CD players and a 2 channel mixer. It runs on Windows XP/2000 only.

ik denk dat je DJ Booth bedoelt, de software die bij de DMP-555 zat?

This is the DJ-Booth that you meant, the software is indead a few years old and was made to be used stand alone or in combination with the DMP-555.

The new version of DJ-booth software is called 'DJS' and is allready announched by Pioneer on DJ-Sound.com.

In short: the software can be used to mix with your computer by using a Playlist, Music Management Create Loop etc. Basically this a further development of the original DJ Booth software with much much improved fetures, functionality and speed of use.

Dat is DJ-Booth die jullie bedoelen, die software is inderdaad een paar jaar oud en was gemaakt om samen te werken met de DMP-555.

Deze software is vandaag aangekondigd door Pioneer op DJ-Sound.com. Ik ben ook bezig met een stukje met wat meer uitleg dan het kale persbericht van Pioneer.

Komt neer op software om op je computer mee te mixen. Playlist, Music Management, Create Loop etc. Het is eigenlijk de gevorderde versie van DJ-Booth. Het komt op de markt met de naam DJS en zal verkrijgbaar zijn vanaf november/december 2005.

DJS ondersteund ook de DMP-555, je kunt dus met zo'n DMP deze software ' bedienen'.

Volgens mij is dit niet om cd spelers op aan te sluiten, maar gewoon software voor je pc...

Heb even rondgekeken op de pioneerprodj.com forums, ze beweren daar dat het programma alleen MP3 speelt, dus geen wav... :
Beetje vreemd, want het topic in dj-topics zegt dat wav wel ondersteund is....

Daar ben ik niet helemaal zeker van, de DJ-Booth software die bij de DMP zit heeft WEL de mogelijk voor het aansluiten van 2x DJM-555. Ik kan bij DJS software hier even niets vinden in de instellingen...Maar ik denk wel dat het kan...

En het antwoord ligt er ergens tussenin. De DJS software kan inderdaad geen .WAV files afspelen, uitsluitend MP3. (heb ik ook maar even op het pioprodj forum geplaatst... vaag dat zelfs de mods niet volledige info geven...)

Maar er zit een uitgebreide RIP functie in die het mogelijk maakt om van WAV en CD (CD-DA of .CDA) te converteren naar MP3... en die wordt dan weer automatisch aan je Library toegevoegd...

en dat duurt niet te lang?
Dus het ontbreken van wav ondersteuning is niet echt een probleem...

hmm looks like some descent software tho... although the jog-wheel looks rather pointless and hard to operate with a mouse... unless u have a thouchscreen or something

there is a demo of the software available, i got it via [edit, sorry no webshops] , it seems prettty nice, and feels like cdjs, but its qiuite hard to do with the mouse

Controlling the sofware by Mouse is pretty hard. Fortunatly there is also the possibility to use a keyboard... stickers are included so you can mark the keys of a keyboard with the appripriate functions

Keybard controll goes pretty smooth.

anyway, been playing about with DJS more and i like it, mainly because it doesnt stretch the beats badly like other DJ software ive used
it basicly sounds more a lot more authentic to cd decks than other similar apps.

After seeing the config screen i thought stickers on the keyboard could be handy, nice to see they are included, a touch screen would probily be good to use too
