I'm currently using inexpensive Stanton C314's but would like to take the step up to CDJ 1000's. To be honest, I've only used the MK3's once playing Saturday night at a large club and that wasn't the time or place to be 'experimenting' and randomly pushing buttons.
From time to time, I am called upon to do weddings, corporate events etc and the client often asks for some kind of background music (during dinner perhaps) in which case, I will play a pre-mixed CD I made beforehand.
My 314's have a continuous/single play mode (as do many other DJ players), however I can find no such feature on the MK3's. I know that on the MK2's, selecting the switch on the rear panel from DJ to Normal would allow a CD to play through.
If not, I will likely have to purchase (and carry around) an inexpensive standard 2U style single CD player.
Any input on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
What do you think about CDJ-1000 MK3 Continuous play ??

Perfect, a quick concise answer! I appreciate it very much. This seems like the kind of information that Pioneer should have included in the manual, however.
Those manuals are funny! Telling you how to beatmatch:P. Tough I didn't like the layout of the cdj-400's... With Dutch and Italian next to eachother..
