Hi, i've bought an external HD 500 GB. Then I created a partition of 100 GB in FAT 32 mode. My CDJ-400 doesn't see some folders. In cannot undestand why. The HD ROOT contens the 2 initials folders ROCK and DANCE, when in connect with the CDJ400 it gives me the ROCK folder as the root so in cannot select the DANCE folder. Also into the ROCK folder there are 7 subfolders, the CDJ400 sees only 5 of them!!Confused Do you know why?? Thank you? Rick

maybe you can try to make 1 extra folder named MUSIC for example where you put in the folders ROCK & DANCE ? the CDJ400 may take the MUSIC folder as the ROOT.

Thank you Fizik for the suggestion.
I tried to made the extra folder named MUSIC and I put in the folders ROCK & DANCE... Incredible: nothing changes! The CDJ400 opens the ROCK folder as the ROOT!!
I'll try to upgrade the firmware. Actually it's the 1.20

Why not make the whole disc FAT32 ?? The CDJ-400 should detect that and you should be able to browse through all the folders.

Are you shure that in these folders you have some MP3 files ?? The CDJ-400 does not read any other audio format...

I would use the HD also to storage others files ando I made 3 partitions, the HD has so much space. But I'll try this solutions to undestand if this is the problem.
I though the possibility there are some files causes that problem... they are so much! I'll have to control them.
Thank you for your suggestion.

P.S. the firmware is the latest: ver. 1.20

You've got the latest firmware allready so updating is not neccesary. Keep in mind the max files/folder the CDJ can read per disc :

Pioneer CDJ-400 topic

When burning your MP3 discs you can make folders up to 8 layers deep. There may be a maximum of 3.000 files on the disc in maximum 2.000 folders.

The 3.000 files and 2.000 folders limits refers to CD-ROM.
USB pendrives or HDs have 10.000 folders and 20.000 files (max 10.000 files per folder). I don't have so much files in the exernal HD.
I think there is some MP3 codec the CDJ-400 doesn't reads.
