I have seen this problem once. The vendor had his memory stick and I had mine. He tried to let a song play from his memory stick, but it read an error. I put mine on it afterwards, and it went just fine.

Would you happen to have another memory stick somewhere? Try that one and see what happens.

you need to format the stick in FAT32

Windows Vista doesn't offer you that possibility anymore so you need a tool for it. Normally and at default Windows formats a media NTFC, but that cannot be read by a lot of gear.

I would not recommend the use of 8Gb stick with a FAT32.

Above 2Gb sticks with a fat32 the performance of the read/write actions is poor.

The best way is to use sticks up to 2GB en format it with FAT16.
This is true for normal pc uses as it is for gear.

>2GB does have some adressing issues. That's why Windows uses the NTFS system.

I was having trouble with a 16GB usb and finally got it to read by formatting it with the free HP USB Format Tool . You can downoad it here http://hp-usb-disk-storage-format-tool.software.informer.com/
