Before the Parkzicht or Darkraver time he worked together with the late Peter Slaghuis (Hithouse Records / ARS) on the Mister Mixi & Skinny Scotty project where Steve did the vocals on their "I Can Handle It" hit.

The Darkraver started as a swingbeat DJ in a local club in Scheveningen. Fortunatly he bumped into DJ rob and started to play in the legendary dutch club called Parkzicht.

In the 90's hardcore ruled the scene and Darkraver's big break was at the Rave the City (1992). He came up behind the decks dressed up in a bat costume. Since then Darkrave had a passion for bats (especially Barcardi's bat )

He played at letterly all hardcore locations dozen of times. Darkraver is know for his special hair cuts and bringing an inflatable foam hamer to pound on the beat.
