Yamaha started in 1887 with the building of the first reed organ in Japan by Torakusu Yamaha. In 1900 they started producing pianos and in 1949 the stocks went to the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1959 - Begins production of electronic organ
1964 - start of production of lifestyle related products
1966 - Yamaha music foundation is established
1971 - begins with production of semiconductiors
1987 - Name changed in Yamaha cooperation for 100th years anniversary
