2009 Year Mixes. (1/2)

   

Zoals vele maken diverse deejays aan het einde van het jaar een Year Mix waarvan de Grand mix van Ben Liebbrand en A State of Trance Year mix van ene Armin van Buuren het meest tot de verbeelding spreken. Nu moet ik eerlijk bekennen dat de Grand mix mij het minste aanspreekt qua muziek keuze, te commercieel, maar de opener en de techniek van Mijnheer Liebbrand zijn bewonderenswaardig Zijn er onder de DJR mensen ook nog Year mix makers? Net als 2007 en 2008 heb ik er weer 1 van 6 uur gemaakt met de voor mij persoonlijk allerlekkerste Trance knallers van het afgelopen jaar. het was weer heel erg moeilijk kiezen tussen zo machtig vele tracks, maar het is uiteindelijk weer gelukt. Daarbij doe ik het dit jaar eens iets anders. Niet een heel rustig begin en naar de climax opbouwen. Ik begin dan wel (voor mij) downtempo met 135 bpm, maar ik heb een soort golf bewegin in de mix gemaakt. Kalm opbouwen (uplifting), even heftiger (energetic trance), dan een paar track rammen (tech trance)?waarna ik weer rustig aan een stapje terug ga, na een paar tracks weer even terug waardoor er even een rustpuntje ontstaat om vervolgens weer te gaan opbouwen. Meeste tijd gaat voor mij?zitten in het samenstellen van de track list. Er komt in een jaar zoveel uit en je kunt maar een beperkt aantal tracks gebruiken. Blijft elke keer weer wikken en wegen.

Dan draai je de nummers ongeveer 5 minuten lang per stuk?

BTW...heb je echt 6 uur achter elkaar gedraaid?

Jep, aan 1 stuk door opgenomen. Mijn vrouw moest dus de doggies doen, geen tijd voor maar zo doe ik het elk jaar. Ik ben namelijk geen pc draaier, generatiekloof denk ik??

Begrijp je helemaal Snoey, maar ik hou er gewoon erg veel van om lekker met m'n spelertjes te knoeien. Al eens eerder gezegt, het was al een "shocking experience" voor mij om van vinyl naar cd over te stappen. Die ben ik nog aan het verwerken ?Kan de "switch" van cd naar digitaal nog niet aan ?Krijg met "ouwe" knakkers he?? Al die nieuwerwetse techniek
Dus anti? Nee! Er klaar voor? Ook nee.

Ik ben zelf ook een jaarmixer en heb besloten?om dit jaar weer een ?jaarmix te maken.
Het is veel werk, maar wat is het? leuk om te maken.

Het zal een jaarmix worden met een bonte verzameling van platen. Van RnB naar Dance eigenlijk. Een recht-toe recht-aan mix kan ik ook maken, maar ik wil er een echte uitdaging van maken. Dus ik ga voor het moelijke. Reken maar op een plaat of 90 in 1 uur durende mix.??Momenteel gaan 3 radiozenders de mix uitzenden, Moerdijk FM, BieK radio en (Waarschijnlijk) Weert FM. Verder kunnen radiozenders die de mix ook willen uitzenden een request mailen naar: jaarmix@paulbrugel.com

Ik zit nu op 20 minuten, en het klinkt erg leuk, moet ik zeggen.

Als hij af is, en de airplay is voorbij zal ik hem uploaden voor de liefhebbers.

Verder hou ik natuurlijk ook de jaarmixen bij van andere, als Sandstorm & Martin Pieters. Jammer dan Ben Liebrand gestopt is met echte grandmixen. Mixen die hij nu maakt voor 538, 30 nummers in 1 uur en alleen maar dance?vind ik persoonlijk niks. ?Ik blijf liefhebber van zijn 1989, 1990, 91 & 92 jaarmixen!

Zit nu mijn eigen topic terug te lezen. Ik wil geen reclame lopen maken voor mijzelf hoor, ik vind het leuk te melden dat ik ook een jaarmix maak. En waarom ik het doe en dat ik het zo leuk vind om te maken.

Voor mij blijft Ben Liebrand de beste "jaarmixer".
Vergeet niet dat wat hij nu met computers maakt in de beginjaren (vanaf 1983) met tape maakte.
In die beginjaren knipte en plakte hij zo'n 120 nummers in een mix van een uurtje in elkaar!
