Technics has released the SL-1200MK6 only in Japan from december 12, 2007. The famous direct drive engine is still the same as in previous Technics SL12xx series turntables, the first model in this range was introduced in 1972. Overall Technics has sold 350.000.000 pieces worldwide by 2007 and this number is still increasing.

OFC
The S-shapes tone arm is made of OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) and has high precision bearings and pivot. The tone arm has a height adjust (0-6mm) and anti-skating control (0-6 grams) aswell as a demped arm-lift.

3 Vibration Damping Layers
The upper part of the cabinet is made of die-cast aluminum with a high grade of stiffness. The middle damping layer is made of TNRC (Technics Non Resonance Compound). On the bottom part of the cabinet there is a outer shell of special heavy-duty rubber for superior vibration damping.

Continuous Pitch Control
No more click at 0%, Technics finally made this standard for their turntables. Removing the click at the center position increases accuracy around this area. Traditionally the 2 mm up and below 0% are locked to 0% by the Quartz lock. The new control circuit to reduce fluctuation of the pitch and also give it it's accuracy around the 0%. To be sure that you are able to play your records on the speed they are intended to (0% there is a pitch-reset button so there is no need for checking the platter strobo to allign the ball pattern.

Blue LED Needle Illumination
The traditional bulb light in the popup target light is replaced with a blue durable LED. Failing of the target light is therefor reduced to a minimum.
