Hello djresource members (prepare for a long topic, you might want to start notepad and take notes :P)

I am to buy my first gear in a few weeks but I'm not quite sure what to get yet. I've decided to go for Pioneer gear at least, I'm getting a DJM-400 mixer and?Ultrasone DJ1 Pro headphones. But I'm not sure about the cd players yet; either CDJ-200's or CDJ-800MK2's.
?
The thing is, I was planning to get the CDJ-200's but then again I'm 'only' five hundred euros short of two 800mk2's.
Should I go for broke (and then some) or should I settle for the 200's?
?
I have a few question to help me decide?what to do and I hope someone can help me to answer them Happy, laughing (I've tried to read as much as possible about both players but I would still like to have?your help on a few questions)

*What is 'Hot Loop' and will I miss it if I choose the 800mk2's?
*What is?'Auto Beat Loop / Emergency' and will?I miss it?if I choose the 800mk2's?
*Will I miss the 'Beat / Loop Cutter' if I choose the 800mk2's?

Questions about 'Tempo'.
*Are the 'Tempo Control Steps' and 'Tempo Control Ranges (CD)' better on the 200 than on the 800mk2?
*Are there even different steps/ranges on the 800mk2?
*Is there a noticeable difference?

Other questions.
*Are the effects on the 200 useful?
*What is 'Cue point sampler' and would I miss it if I choose the 800mk2's?

What would you choose for first time gear?
I don't want to?outgrow if at once and feel that I have to buy new gear straight away. I would mainly be mixing trance/house/the rest of the EDM genres. :P

Comparism between the two players -?http://img59.imageshack.us/my.php?image=comparerl9.png
I would be most grateful for every bit of help that I could get on this, since I'm about to spend a shitload of money on this Happy, laughing

CDJ-200 : A HotLoop is a loop that when you press the Hot Loop (Loop In) Button. The Auto Beat Loop automaticaly creates a 4-beat loop directly when pressed.

CDJ-800MK2 : Has 4 buttons to record a loop in different lengths, all timed automatically. You can automatically create a loop of
  • Auto Beat Loop 1 (1/8) : Plays/records Loop of 1 or 1/8th beat
  • Auto Beat Loop 2 (1/4) : Plays/records Loop of 2 or 1/4th beat
  • Auto Beat Loop 4 (1/2) : Plays/records Loop of 4 or 1/2 a beat
  • Auto Beat Loop 8 (1/1) : Plays/records Loop of 8 or 1 beat
When recorder the Auto Beat Loop buttons also function as Hot Loop.

In other words: the Auto Beat Loop functionality of the CDJ-800mk2 is far more expanded than the the Hot Loop of the CDJ-200.

you can find this info in the DJ Topics : CDJ-200 and CDJ-800MK2.

They are nice and do well if you mixer doesn't have effects. You'll use them when you got CDJ-200's. You might not miss them when you have a CDJ-800 and have a mixer with effects.

CDJ-800mk2 also has Cue point sampler. On any CDJ you can use the Cue Button as a sampler, the Cue point is played while pressed. When you release the Cue Button the CDJ directly returns to the Cue point, ready for the next press. You cannot be faster than the CDJ (I've tried dozens of times)

Depands on the budget. If you like the jog functionality it would be the 800 without a doubt. But if you're in the try-out-stage you will have a good choice on the CDJ-200. It a very solid player and has all basics + effect + (Hot) Auto Loop.
Let the BASS be louder

Excellent, thanks a lot for those answers Lead.
As you say, depends on the budget.. and even though I'm a complete newbie right now but I don't intend to stay one
So I'll go with the 800's (I'll be sure to post a pic in the DJ Booth section ones I get them).
Thanks again Lead!

Another question..
How does the 800's and the DJM-400 work together? Good? Or would someone recommend another mixer?
