i would go for the pioneer, u get much more quality than behringer, for your occasional 3th channel just turn a switch and u can use 2 devices on one channel.

It's just when you're going to update your dj-booth with for example, one more CDJ of even 2 of even turntable's.Then you're going to say: why didn't i bought a 4 channel mixer from te start.
I think almost NOBODY here @ this forum heard a lot about the Behringer DDM4000. They All think: because the behringer djx 700 was bad, this mixer is bad too. But I heard from somebody that has this mixer for a while, that the only bad thing that their is about it. Is that the headphone jack, sometimes disapears into the mixer.

If I had to chose betwoon those to definately the DJM, but I think it is just to small, makes you very limited. No XLR outs, no rec out, no send/return. The quality is indeed quite good, and thats why I would go for the DJM. There are not a lot of bad stories about this Behringer, but nobody has been using it already for two years since it is not that old. And don't even think you can ever buy for so less money very great quality, it does not work like that.
In short. My opinion is that both are not the one to go for. May I ask what your budget is?

Pioneer. I Think Because The DJM 400 Is much better because Behringer isn't that good with building mixers.

The DDM 4000 has got a lot of more gadgets and things. The DJM 400 is compact and easily to take with you if you are a mobile DJ. Lots of people say that Behringer isn't a good brand. But it gets better and better. i should choose the DDM 4000. smile Hope my english isn't very bad xD

Zo slecht is het niet hoor die engels van you. Hij begrijpt het toch.

I've worked a couple of times with the DDM 4000 and I own a djm 700 myself so I can give you some kind of an honest opinion. To start with: The behringer isn't bad at all, and overall build quality is better then the djx series. The quality of course is far below pioneer, because it is not meant to be placed in clubs,  but for home usage it might just be enough because it also is completely digital. Because of this the fader problems of the djx series should be less noticable if they are even present (no cracks and things like that). I also have some negative feedback for the ddm: the userfriendlyness is faaar below pioneer. That is why i didn't like it. On a pioneer you need 2, maybe 3 actions to trigger an effect with a certain setting. On the behringer it is a lot more, taking you trough menu's on the screen and that kind of stuff. The effects also sound better on the pioneer mixers. It is great that almost every parameter is adjustable on the DDM, BUT because of this it lacks userfriendly-ness

If I had to make this choice I would get a Reloop RMX40 Blackfire instead. It is in the same price range, the effects are very easy to work with like a pioneer mixer (except for sound quality, it is below pioneer), decent build-quality for it's price and it has 4 channels! Sorry pioneer, the DJM 400 is just overpriced lately Cool

Stop talking about Behringer products are bad, in the sound and light industry we have digital mixingdecks, there are 2 decks that compare the discussion on the behringer and pioneer and those 2 decks are Yamaha and Behringer, Yamaha costs 2000 euro's and behringer 700 euro's, the looks are almost the same, behringer is more userfriendly than Yamaha and the Behringer is almost as good as the yamaha in sound quality.

I have worked with the ddm-4000, djm 400, djm 800, djx 700 and i have to say that the behringer aren't bad at all. Bud that is the same as volkswagen and Porsche, same fabrication, only porsche is a name you have to pay for, and ofcourse there is more quality, but behringer is not that bad, it only has build up a bad name the last few years, but I am sound engineer and work with behringer without problems!

Kind regards
